| Brief thank you letters are an important follow up. Send a separate letter to each individual with whom you interview. Make sure each letter is different and reflects your interest in the company and position.
A thank you can be typed, handwritten and even emailed. Each reflects your own personal style or preference. A word of caution: write a thank you by hand only if your handwriting is legible. If this old-fashioned route appeals to you, keep good quality note cards, envelopes, and stamps handy. Immediately following the interview, write down your notes.
You should respond with a thank you within 24 hours after the interview. Remember, this note is going to create a lasting impression of you. Keep the
letter concise, usually beginning with thank you, followed by a careful reiteration of why you are the best person for the job. Don't forget to check spelling and grammar before sending the letter. Be especially careful to spell the interviewer's name correctly!
